War darkened the skies and Agarest soon became a torturous hell as the gods divided and immense armies clashed, desecrating the once beautiful land…Īfter many years with the war in deadlock, Sieghart, a young officer loyal to the armies of light, passes through the scarred mountains on a perilous mission. As the generations passed, paradise sadly fell to the ravages of time. From the void, the gods of darkness and light created Agarest, a most perfect and divine world. Remember the shitstorm over a couple of costume changes in Xenoblade Chronicles X? I mean jesus, they hastily censored about 4 G-string outfits when they are put on a 12 year-old character and the 'all-or-nothing' censorship nazis acted like it completely ruined the game.About This Game UNCOVER THE EPIC STORY PRECEDING #1 SELLER, AGAREST: GENERATIONS OF WARįollowing hot on the heels of the number 1 top selling epic SRPG “Agarest: Generations Of War”, Ghostlight are proud to announce its prequel “Agarest: Generations Of War ZERO” bringing an enticing blend of in-depth strategy and epic multi-generational storytelling to Steam! I would rather have a tiny bit of necessary censorship so we actually get it localised over no censorship and not getting them at all. I would also prefer JRPGs being uncensored, but I much prefer the fact that we get them at all. P.S After reading this it sounds a bit passive-aggressive, which wasn't my intention, I just wanted to convey that you have to take the seriousness at which you see these "issues" discussed on the internet with a grain of salt, there is a very loud and very vocal minority of people with absolutely no compromise or reasonableness in their arguments. Having said that, Agarest Zero is my favourite entry in the series so that's a good choice if the mild censorship of Agarest 2 is a problem for you :) it's additional content, and honestly not a very large amount of additional content, you still get the full experience and the full story as it was intended without this 1 DLC pack. There is 1 DLC pack that didn't make the port (which has the Ellis character in it), but it's hardly a crucial piece of content, remember that it was/is DLC. The content is still all there but instead of showing the image on screen it goes black and has some nicely worded text. The version of Agarest 2 on Steam is literally the European PS3 version which has some fairly mild censorship - In terms of base game censorship/changes from the Japanese and NA releases, there are a total of 4 images censored and 1 mini-game. The scope of the 'cut content' is way overblown by the insanity of the all-or-nothing 'no censorship at all' committee.
